Human beings play to learn. Watch very young children and this statement is self-evident. What is less well understood is the ways in which play can be used to engage adult learners in acquiring a wide range of knowledge and skills. Play can provide some of the toughest and most demanding challenges for learners and educators. So ‘playing with knowledge’ is both a place to explore the fun of doing so and learning how to do so skillfully.
